Oh, that's a new one.

We have had questions about virtually every problem here. But to ask "what's my problem" is definitely a first.

Please take your time and try to describe your problem in at least one sentence. Otherwise, how could you expect us to take quite a bit of our time and download and analyse your file?

Hey dude , would like to help but you will have to use a different place to share files. That www 2 shared is rated as dangerous by wot, I won't be visiting that site.

Hi, I can see what you are trying to achieve but what you have is not going to work. I’m new to this myself but have spent most of my time going through the tutorials and searching these forums for help. I strongly recommend you do the same as it really does pay off:) And like the other Guy’s said, you really need to give more info.

Downloaded before Chucky posted… wont use that site then:) Just hope the hosting site I chose is ok.

I’ve made this short demo for you and will explain how I did it later if you like (I have to shoot out right now). Is this what you were looking to do?

Hi Chucky n thanks for the welcome. Not used a file-hosting site before as i used to get a small amount of web space from my ISP, although not any more so thanks for the info.

I was waiting until I had something to show before I started posting here but when I saw Frey_Y’s file I thought id give it a go. There was a lot of trial and error making the demo so I got to learn more about masking at the same time. All good :)

Frey, im not sure if this is the best way to do this as im still finding my way with ASPro but it does achieve the goal.

With all the layers in the Mask folder (you can add layers after if you need to) double click on the folder and select the Masking tab and set the Group Mask to {Hide all}. All the layers in the folder are now hidden. Double click on all of the layers except ‘ball’ and ‘cover’ and set the layer masking to {+ add to mask}. These layers should now be visible. Both the ball and cover layers are now also visible because they are on top of the sky and background layers. Try moving the ball off the edge of the sky and you will see it slowly disappear. Leave ball layer on the default mask setting (should be {mask this layer}). Double click on the cover layer and set the Layer Masking to {- subtract from mask}. Now whenever the ball passes over the cover layer it will be masked. It’s important to have the hole layer above the cover layer because it shields the ball from the mask until it has passed over hole. This is great because the ball will now disappear along the curved line of the hole.

I used a gradient fill on the hole layer to create some depth, then duplicated it for the shadow layer. For the shadow simply select the right hand point and drag it to the left until you are happy with the shape. Turn off the outline in the styles window then double click on the layer and set the Opacity level.

Think that’s everything… Hope it helps

Cheers
