Flash file does not have sound on web

So sorry if this has been asked before but I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Well I made an animation, I put the sound in, played it, and it's all fine. Then I save it as a flash, but when I try to post it on the web, the animation is there but there is no sound.

Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please and thank you.

You need an mp3 of the same sound file in the same location as the AS file. SWF export uses this for its soundtrack.

Sorry that didn't work. Again only the animation came up. I'm using a wave file, it's right next to the swf file and it's still not working.

but you should use an MP3 file instead, as synthsin already said.

you may keep the wav file in your anme file but at least make sure you keep the mp3 in the source folder with the wav file.
It sounds crazy but that should work.

but I had to use a program to make it a wave. Becuse it wouldn't take an MP3 file.

Thank you that acctually worked

but what if the sound is originlly a wave, how do you turn in into an MP3? I can only do it form MP3 to wave.

Download audacity, it is free, import the wav and export as mp3.....done.

I have, it also told me to download something else though, I downloaded that to, and now the whole thing works :D Again thank you

From the Audacity manual:

Audacity cannot encode MP3 files by itself, because the MP3 encoding algorithm is patented and cannot legally be used in free programs. However, Audacity has been programmed to recognize other existing MP3 encoders that you can download separately.

Actually the original MP3 algorythm can be used for a small license fee, paid to http://www.mp3licensing.com/royalty/ where you'll see the rates. MP3 was developed by the german Fraunhofer Institut.
