Hi,
I wonder if anyone here uses Flash CS4? I don't use Flash at all but I'm contemplating buying it or at least downloading the demo.
I lose quite a bit of work because peeps ask for .SWF output, and I can't deal with AS' SWF output and larg-ish file sizes.
For an AS user who only draws in Photoshop and animates in AS, is Flash a totally different creature? I'd like to be able to create .SWF animations for the web too. Is it a frustrating app? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on it, considering its not a cheap buy.
Thanks.
Mike

I haven't got CS4 (yet?) but I've used Flash for a long time (since it was FutureSplash!) and it is a very different beast from AS. Frame-by-frame stuff is a lot easier, use of sound is way better than AS, you get interactivity and scripting control of your animations, and you can really optimise stuff much more elegantly for .swf output, of course. You'll have to look deep into your heart (and your wallet...) to get it, but it will probably pay for itself fairly quickly if you are a busy guy. Even with the recent addition of some kind of bone system, AS can probably still outperform it for animation ease of use, though. At the moment...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
