Big warning out there recently for IE users. You should switch browsers until they fix some god awful exploit the didn't fix on the last round of updates. Apparently even MS might be vaguely suggesting using another browser. Apparently this is a major bug. Someone could like... take over your computer.
MS is like freaking out. This is a nasty one. I don't know if the patch is available yet or not. it was suppose to be ready yesterday. I use Firefox so I'm not on top of the story.

I switched to Firefox for default browser and all the help stuff is now working.

I'm actually quite happy with IE7. I tried Firefox but it crashed incessently. Even with its continue last session feature, it just crashed too much.

IE tries to restrict documents from being run from your computer by default (supposedly to keep someone on the other end from running any malicious code in you temporary internet files). But there should be a notification bar at the top of the page asking you whether you want to run it or not. (You may have those warnings disabled.)
You could try this in IE: Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, and then make sure 'Allow active content to run in files on my computer' is checked. This should open the help without complaining.
Although this option makes IE not play .mov files online. I had to hunt up a registry edit to fix mine.
Uhh, so I guess I'd have to say I'm happy with IE7 now, once I've straightened it out.

For what it's worth, Anime Studio does in fact have tool tips for all the tools in the toolbar. They're in this format:
Freehand (F)
Freehand would be the name of the tool, and the letter in parenthesis is the key you can press to activate that tool. But the tooltips sren't really going to help you learn how to use the software. Once you learn the basics through the tutorials, the tooltips may help remind you what a particular tool is, but they're not meant to be a quick way to learn the program from scratch.
I'm going to see if I can track down a Win2k machine to see if there's a problem with that specific version of Windows and our tool tips. In the meantime, can any other Windows users here comment on whether they can see tooltips in Anime Studio? I can see them on Windows XP.

Not to get OT here, but you really should give Firefox another try (it's hard for me to understand since I've *always* used it as my browser, at least for years, and no version has ever caused me problems, but perhaps a later version will not have the issues for you you had).
FF is about the most stable product out there, and IE about the most unstable (and this pertains to ALL versions of IE. I could go into more details but essentially the core engine is flawed and it can NEVER be fixed). It really just a virus waiting to hurt you.

I think this time the switch to Firefox will stick. It took me several days to get all the add-ons needed to emulate the features I really like in IE, but so far so good.
I think my one last gripe would be that AIOS can't remember scoll location. Sidebar grippy can, but it has a very small handle and you can't just mouse over it.
