Post by TheRoger »

Hi all, I'm very new here and I need help. I drew a guy in photoshop: here he is:

And I want to import him to anime studio. Well I drag him there andI can see him. But I cant add bones in him.
So I want that my character would be like that guy when you open anime studio. Is it even possible. I really need to know.

you must to create a bone layer and put you character layer inside, then add then bones.
but first, your character must be separated in parts, one png file per part (arm right, arm left, head, body, legs, etc).

but, before all that, you really must to read the tutorials, it's all covered there.

Click on 'Help'. One of the items is 'Help...' (A little confusing, I know). Under that, there are some tutorials. Work your way through them -- it's a good introduction to the program.

Export the character from Photoshop in 32 bit PNG format (24 bit with transparency). There should be no background when you import them into AS. Oh, and AS can produce shadows automatically (if you mean drop shadow effects like in Photoshop). Double-click on a layer title and you will see how to do it.

OK. This mini-tutorial is for Photoshop CS (Photoshop eight). In Photoshop, when you click on "Save for Web" in the "File" menu item, you get a new window come up. At top right are a number of options. Choose "PNG-24" and tick the "Transparency" box underneath. The resulting picture file should have a transparent background (assuming you have not drawn any background in the original, of course!!). If you have Photoshop 7 or later, there is a script which you can use in Photoshop to automate this process. Assuming you are using Windows, and have opted for the default installation, it is in "Smith Micro/Anime Studio Pro/Extra Files".
