Here's a short fighting test that I did using characters from a fantasy/action series I'm developing called Ultimate Warrior:

I'm experimenting on how to make an intense fight scene using camera moves and angles while remaining in 2D space while remaining a "3D" illusion through shading, shadows, and forced perspective.
You'll also notice that when the characters punch or kick each other I put a frame of white that looks like a "flash" when the impact comes. The flashes, unfortunately, do not all show up in the YouTube video because of the compression but some of them are there.
btw I got the "flash" idea from the 90s Batman animated TV series. They use that technique a lot.
"Ultimate Warrior" fighting test.

PROJECT UPDATE:
My partner and I recorded the lines for the whole first season. I'll be starting layout and animation as soon as I get home. First episode is very short and should be out in a few days.

Haha well, this series is hardly a comedy but the story and action should be pretty good.chucky wrote:I'm looking forward to the whole episode Spooze, I think your witty dialogue scenes driven by a strong narrative with comedic action sequences will make for a fully entertaining experience. Bring it on.
This series is 100% story-driven and not especially dialogue or situation driven like Average Joe. I think this series will be a nice change.
The first episode I'm putting out had very little dialogue from the characters themselves. Most of the dialogue is from the narrator.
The first episode is basically setting up the world and the conflict and then the real "talking" starts up in episode 2. The dialogue is a lot more formal then something like Average Joe also.
The episodes are very short. I'd say the first one will be a little over two minutes.
