Magnet tool query
This ones puzzling me.....Can anyone explain why AS's magnet tool has a "Select Group" function yet does not allow you to manipulate only those group points that have been selected? I realize if you keep the magnet size is small enough you can tweak those selected points individually but you can do that with the point manipulation tool anyways. What's more puzzling is when you DO select a group from the magnet tool function and then try to manipulate those points, the highlight group drops back to only those points that are directly under the magnet influence???? So, what real use is the Magnet tools "Select Group" function or am I missing something such as a hot key?

I think something may have gone fishy in one of the updates. Fazek's, 7feet's, and Macton's magnet tools all seem to have some glitches. Fazek's is spitting out lua errors, and 7feet's alt selection doesn't seem to be working.
If I ever get time, I'll look into this. But until then you should be able to find what you need them to do between the four (including LM's).

Like I mentioned to synthsin75 in a pm it was your original post GCharb re:manipulating selected points that made me look into trying 7feets Megamagnet script but for some reason I cannot get it to function. It seems that it is supposed to be able to manipulate only selected points but alas I cannot get it to work.

Hello DK, synth
But, in the past, on another forum, about another animation software, I started something that got me, and many regular and very talented peoples of that commumity kicked out, so I want to be more cautious now.
Also, some peoples like to intellectualise everything, they get cryptic and turn everything into a brain exercise, while most are well intended, and even very knowledgable, they are the sort of thinkers who made that previous incident a huge thing, and got us kicked in the process.
All in all, I think this is a great forum and I apreicate all the help you guys gave me in the last week or so, really apreciated.
I also have an idea for a AS tutorial and collaboration site, a bit like http://toonboomcartooning.wetpaint.com
I'll look into that in a few days or so, I got plenty of experience building highly specialized website, this could be fun!

I for one think AS Pro is great software, also I have many points and suggestions I would like to ask or suggestions I would like to make.DK wrote:it was your original post GCharb re:manipulating selected points that made me look into trying 7feets Megamagnet

I have noticed a small glitch....if you have a group of selected points and reduce the size of the magnet tool down to a radius suited to single point manipulation, the other points in the group go haywire when trying to sngle out individual points for tweaking. I guess a workaround is to name and group important points (points that are situated above or close to other points in a character), into single point groups.

I can't imagine what you are refering too, but considering a) we have such a hard time kicking SPAMMERS, and b) Vern is both one of our biggest 'intellectualisers' (?) and the only one who seems to have the power to 'kick' around here, i would think that your freedom of speech is pretty well looked after here... as long as you aren't abusive/racist/etc... i dont see how pondering on the functionality of a software could get you kicked. One of the main things that seems to be keeping this forum so active over the years is that someone is finding new solutions to old problems all the time - and that can only come from suggesting things, even if they end up impossible to implement. Also, some peoples like to intellectualise everything, they get cryptic and turn everything into a brain exercise, while most are well intended, and even very knowledgable, they are the sort of thinkers who made that previous incident a huge thing, and got us kicked in the process.
