chromakeying?

Post by cosmo »

Hello gentlemen,
Just a quick one... I'd like to know if it's possible to chromakey a greenscreen video in AS.
Absolutely LOVE the program by the way... cuts my work time in half!

You would need to do that in another application and create an alpha channel for the movie. There is no way to create a mask from the color of an image or movie layer in AS. AS only recognizes alpha channels.

I use kromakeying in my vedio editing, it must be posibl to do prepar your work (animation wise) in AS as long as your background is transparant. Not that I have had a need to do so. I am planing on overlaing a pease of animation over an ordenary move (avi) film using one of my Studio 11.5, from Pinnical. It has two screens. and I can put my animation over the film the animation transperancy will allaw my work (animation) be visable.

As long as you have two screens I think it's posible.

If there is any argument against it from the forum experts!!! I will experimant and let you know.

To many programs that already do this,... well. Leave color keying for compositors.

HOWEVER.............

Mattes! Being able to use smart alpha tracking mattes in AS should simply roxxor. I'd drop $ for this feature alone.

VERY pleasant surprise when I found this out,.... you'd think this outrageously awesome feature would be more predominatly, I dont know, documented?

To be fruther able to use the same alpha from the movie file to then mask out other layers.....priceless.

If you don't want to pay big bucks for a video editor that has decent chroma keying and you use windows, check out CineGobs Keyer!
