I'd like to share with you one of my all-time favourite animations. I saw this when I went to COMICON in 2006 in San Diego. Frederator Studios had produced some RANDOM! cartoons for Nickelodeon. Pen Ward had written and I think even storyboarded this short called ADVENTURE TIME whist on a fishing vacation with his brother. He wasn't on drugs when he did it!
I met him. Very humble fellow. The room was in absolute hysterics after and whilst the short played. I was crying from laughter so much. Ok, so I know is humour that not everyone gets, but I love it. The voice of the dog is the guy that does Bender in Futurama, Di Maggio or something.
After the short, instead of giving us a thorough dissection on the process like the other writers and animators of the other shorts, he just softly said carry around a sketchbook with you and draw in it. Pretty simple.
