Putting Pictures in AS

I'm trying to put a picture into AS, but not like importing it. And I only need a part of it. What I'm doing is opening the picture in MS Paint and using the freeform cutting tool cutting out the picture and copying it. What I can't do is open it in AS. how can I do that? Please help. Thanks!

There's no copy and paste of bitmapped images available in AS. You need to save your image and then open up an image layer or drag the file from Explorer over to AS.

Thanks. Iknow what I'm going to say has nothing to do with AS, but I'm trying to download sound fx from findsounds.com. They won't download because they have like corupted files. Is it just me or can they be downloaded. If anyone can get them downloaded please tell me how. Thanks!!
