text test
the above url just shows a quick test I did using
text and running them over some bones to
make a fluid movement. Great, simple technique!

For any Blender users, someone asked on the Nystic forums how to do this, and I did it in Blender. If you want to see it, here's the link: http://www.freewebs.com/chewanater/slither.blend

Ok, here is a dragon from a project I'm working. I wanted to post the finished 8 shorts we are making, but I couldn't resist to put this animation here
Dragon swf (just open the link in a new tab).

I couldn't open your dragon, but damn! Thanks for posting this thread, I never would have thought of that.

Here's another way to use the technique in AS. I tried to duplicate a magnifying glass video I saw on YouTube. Since I have to move the image layer instead of the bone layer I wonder if that video was done in another program.

Nice use of the technique by Toonertime too. I couldn't view the wavy water effect. I was thinking of heat waves rising from a street too. Just need to keep the image still and move the bones.

Using the tips here I did a few test because I wanted to see if it could be used for water ripples in some way.
I tried scaling the bones to distort the shape as it flowed along the bones. Distorted the shape using columns of bones in a line as well as some other columns set up like a comb's teeth with scale/position changes.
All in all it was interesting to see how it worked and I may use what I've learned. Just need to do a little more testing.
Here the file if you wanted to see how I tinkered with the idea.
