Eyedropper freeware

Post by synthsin75 »

I was just browsing freeware and came across this color picker.

http://www.inetia.com/en/eyedropper/

This works great with AS. Ever been working with image layers and needed to match a color in the image? Eyedropper shows a zoomed view for easy selection and displayes the color's hex value. Even better, you can set it to copy (ctrl+c) this hex value so you can just paste it into the AS color picker.

Oh, it also does screen capture.

I use pixie. you can minimize it and just copy and paste the color code, as if there weren't more open programs than AS.

(somebody recommend it here, I don't remember who)

Selgin, I checked that one out. I would really suggest switching to Eyedropper. It has many more features.

You can adjust how far you want the picker to zoom, which values are shown and copied, and the screen capture. Pixie doesn't even have a preferences screen. And their about the same size.

Colorcop looks nice. If it could also do variable size screen capture, I'd be sold.

I've downloaded color cop. Can someone tell me how to get the color from the clipboard on the computer to AS fill or line colors??

I've since switch to Color Cop. When you select a color with its eyedrop tool, it automatically copies that color's hexadecimal number to your clipboard. Just highlight the number (#DEE3E7, for example) in the AS color picker and hit ctrl+V to paste in the one you chose with Color Cop.

HA HA I thought Mac was just supposed to work.

Actually, I think it has a color picker program built in?
Something like shift + command + c
