Call for Gallery Submissions
Hello everyone.
Our MarCom team is looking for new samples of work done with Anime Studio. Apparently we've been using the same handful of animations for the past several years and they want new stuff. The old stuff is awesome but I guess it's time. It obviously doesn't have to be done in Anime Studio 6, it just needs to be done within Anime Studio or it needs to be clear that Anime Studio was a used for a major part of the creation process.
So what's in it for you?
Well, I can't pay you per say but if the team does select your animation(s) you'll get full credit of course and I can upgrade a copy of Anime Studio or provide you with some other SmithMicro software of your choice such as Poser or Manga Studio. I'm guessing we have almost a bazillion products in our catalogue that you could choose from.
How do you submit?
Just post it to this thread as a link to youtube or some other share. If they want to use it, they'll request you send a .mov or .avi file and get particulars from you. If you're not comfortable posting it for some reason just PM the link to me.
Where does it go?
It will be displayed in the online gallery on the new Anime Studio product pages on mysmithmicro.com.
Sorry for the late notice but they need stuff asap.

I'll throw my hat into the ring. Everything in our YouTube channel is ASP, and it's all part of one big episode, so take your pick:
http://www.youtube.com/seaofidiots
Part 9 probably looks the coolest, but some of the effects under the logo on the stage are from Motion. Everything else is ASP, though.

Everything I have posted, animation wise, in my vimeo account was done completely with AS. While I'm sure our series work is too long it could be excerpted.
I won't list it all but here are some representative links:

Jelly Telly animation done in Anime Studio
This animation was intended as a bumper for a website called Jelly Telly. Everything except for the 3D animated submarine intro was done using Anime Studio. It was done "on spec" and I don't believe it was ever used.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgW9GsOmTqU
I could easily eliminate the Jelly Telly logo and place "Anime Studio" in its place.
Thanks!
Pierre

All of the animations on my YouTube channel use AS, if any of them strike your fancy:

If you don't want to sift through the whole lot, my favorite is here:

My latest is here:

And this one is probably my most ambitious:

Health and Safety film for BskyB. It's a mixture of pure ASPro (eg. the cat and environment) with 3d models and Flash characters (warthog/boss), all composited within ASPro itself.

Neo-Mickey is a pilot project for Disney, for a possible alternative treatment of Mickey Mouse. Entirely animated within ASPro.
http://vimeo.com/1500926

Adverts for Sollatek products, broadcast in Kenya. Entirely animated in ASPro. (Two new ones are currently in production.)

Confessions of a Diary Secretary - title sequence for one-off drama made for and broadcast on ITV (British broadcaster). Character animation and composition in ASPro

Barry Baker! your stuff is AWESOME! I saw the cat one years ago and loved it a lot, it really impressed me with what MOHO could do and it was one of the first video s I saw that made me buy into the MOHO concept. Also, your NEO-MICKEY is absolutely incredible man. I love it to bits.
As a side, I'll throw my videos into the ring:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxeJvmSuZps
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__S_CMgHBHg <- Guy & Girl made entirely in AS.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_okVLZutkl8 <- Happy Land also made entirely in AS.

And my proudest video:

Peace,
Mike
(I tried smashing together a neo-mickey type character in AS. You really should watch Barry Baker's short. Its one of my, if not, my all-time favourite AS example:)

Hey Mikdog,
I totally agree regarding Barry Baker's work. I hadn't seen any of it until it was posted here and I'm really, really impressed.
Of course, your music videos and animations are first rate also! I'm glad that some of this work will be seen by a larger public and prove that the software can produce work on par with any software out there.
Of course, the real success of any animation is up to the talent of the artist but the work I've seen so far should provide are really fantastic showcase.

To Mikdog and Pierre,
Just to join in with the appreciation-fest - I really enjoyed Mike's goldfish video. It's bursting with vigour and humour. Pierre's multiplane test promises great things, and I really like your paper models website. People should know that they can download a free paper model of Fireball XL5 - wonderful!

This piece, "Layoffs," was made using Anime Studio Pro. The characters were made by hand drawing body parts, then scanning and importing them into ASP. And the backgrounds were photos I took.
