Yes it preserves transparency.uncle808us wrote:If I ever get it to work I'll let you know. But it's almost bedtime and I won't have any free time until wednesday. Gotta work.madrobot wrote:Can anyone tell me, when you use either of these scripts to export PSD layers to AS images, does it preserve transparency?
I'm also on mac, leopard 10.5.7, did you put the script in /library/application support/gimp/scripts ?

I use the Export layers to Anime Studio script extensively.
By the way, the script is located in Anime Studio/Extra Files/Export Layers to Anime Studio.jsx
You run it from Photoshop by going to File, Run Script, Browse (then select the file and name the Anime Studio file you're creating. Don't forget to add the '.as' extension at the end.

Thats great that you can export layers to psd.
All these years I just never realised that the layers can't be grouped or in a bone folder! - otherwise it just exports a psd with all the elements in the one layer.
I always automatically shove my layers in a bone folder for organization-never thought to check by taken them out!

Well I give up. I edited the script till my head is spinning and still can't get it working I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Would it be possible for someone to fix it and upload the fixed version somewhere. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks. Here is the link for the script.

Maybe your browser will append .txt at the end of the file, if so just take that extension away (in finder "get info" on the file and delete the .txt extension, that's it)

Out of interest, if you want to buy Photoshop, one of the best ways is to get something inexpensive that comes with Photoshop Elements, like a small digital tablet or camera I guess, then pay the upgrade price to Photoshop proper. You'll probably save a WHACK more, and I've read online of people doing that. I...well, I just bought it outright and ate sardines on toast for a while. Meh. Good program though

Could you provide some examples of why someone would use this?uncle808us wrote:Thank you so much ulrik I am in your debt. I hope someday to be able to pay it foward. Once again thank you so much. It works like a charm. I'll have to study it to see waht you have done. Again Thank you.
I understand that you get images from gimp to AS, but would it help with setting up switch / bone layers or something?
