Actually no one I know uses the word arse around here. I've never heard anyone besides myself use it. There are several reasons I say and use the word "arse".
1. I don't like to curse on forums or in mixed settings. (occasionally I break this rule but... I have to be really really irate ) I often say "Gosh darnit" and "Dagnabbit".
2. I think it just sounds funny.
3. I've watched the entire "Father Ted" series on DVD waaaay too many times. (You can't watch just one at time.)

I won't repeat the other one father Jack says. It might actually be offensive in some areas of the world.

I actually grew up in Cornwall, who have a far more septic (tank) accent, they have some very pronouncedRs there....
Aussies have much flatter R's.
