Animating styles

Post by JCook »

I'm using ASPro 6 on my Mac.

Is there a way to animate between styles, to make an object start out with one style, and when it reaches a certain time gradually morph into a different style, so that there's a gradual transition between them?

I've tried simply moving in the timeline and applying a different style, but it doesnt' animate. I've got animated layer effects checked in the layer prefs. When I change to the second style it changes the style globally. I've also tried to morph between two morph blends that have different styles applied and that doesn't seem to work either.

thanks,
Jack

The thing with styles is that they contain a lot of parameters which are on/of only, and those can't be inbetweened in any way - there must be a switch somewhere in time.

But you can of course animate certain features of a style, like the colour or the opacity of a shape. I haven't used this often, maybe someone else already has a list of what can be animated and what not.

Thank you, slowtiger, you've given me an idea.

What I want to actually do is to change the color and the soft edge of an object to go from soft to hard, so maybe I can do that by animating parameters in the style, instead of trying to go from one style to another. I'll give it a try.

thanks,
Jack
