More than one file open at a time

Post by JCook »

I would love to be able to have more than one file open at a time. Often I need to go back and forth between different scenes and it's a pain to have to close a file, then open one, then close that one and open the first one again. It would make many things easier. I can do this in most programs I use, and would like to be able to do it in ASPro.

I don't have a problem having multiple files open.

You have to click on the AS icon to open another file first. You can't click file/open on the current file, because then it will just close what you are working on. Which I'm assuming you are doing. It took me awhile to figure this out.

Or at least it works for ASP6 Win.

Hi Blue,

I'm not sure what you mean by "click on the AS icon to open another file first." Do you mean click on the file itself in the directory? All my ASPro 6 files have the icon from 5.6, the old orange one, and if I click on one it tries to open in 5.6. I can click on a file and get a menu and choose ASPro 6 to open it and it opens but it closes the already open file first.

I'm on a Mac, so maybe there's a difference there.

There must be a OS difference, and perhaps also having the 5.6 version is also throwing a wrench in it.

There are two ways I can do it.

1. Have a file open.
2. Minimize and click the icon of another file, voila!

3. Click on the AS application app icon, file/open file, voila!

JCook, to automaticly open your as files in v.6, right click on one of your AS files, from the contextual meny choose "Get info", in the new "info" window there is a "open with:" there you can choose you AS v.6 app and under there is an option to "change all", push that button and all your AS files will open with AS v.6 if you double click on them.

If you would like to have 2 files open at the same time you have to have 2 AS apps open, simply copy your AS app and rename it to like: Anime Studio Pro 2 and have it inside your AS folder along with your other AS app, this works at least on osx 10.5.7

Thanks, Ulrik, I'll give that a try.
