I'm seriously confused....

Post by b15fliptop »

So I have this character that I created in Photoshop, and I saved out a full-size PNG of him to use as a scale reference when creating sets in Photoshop. I just drag him into the set's file, and build it around him.

Here's the confusing part. When I build the set in ASP, using images output at full scale from the aforementioned PS file, and I then import the character... he's exactly 1/3 too small. i.e., I have to scale him UP to 1.5 for him to be correctly scaled with the set.

What the heck is going on here?? Anyone know? :?

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Brian

Edit: both files (the character and the set) are set to the same dimensions as well.

I know I know I know.

i think.

Ok, look at the document size in Photoshop. Let's say its 800 x 600 pixels.

Then go to AS. Change the project settings to 800 x 600 pixels.

NOW try import the character. Should be 1:1 with your set.

Thing is if you drew the background and character in the same Photoshop document on different layers @ 800 x 600 pixels, then imported the background into as, then changed the document size to 1600 x 1200, for example, then tried to import your character, he's-a-gonna-be-a-different-size.

Best to keep the same size in your Photoshop document as well as AS Project Settings if you want the sizes to be the same when importing.

Interesting... I'll run some tests and see if that's it. Thanks, Mik!
