Bone audio wiggle. Rotation to Scale

Post by Jean_R »

It would be great if we can use "Bone Audio Wiggle" in order to change bone scale instead of bone angle. This could help creating music video. I've got no solution atm.

That would be cool. It'd be awesome if you could put a whole bunch of stuff in a switch layer, number it 1 to 10 or whatever, and have the audio level change that. Hey, in fact you can do that...its a lot of work, but have a couple of bones in a switch layer from varying scales, small to big, and then make the switch layer audio file the music, and it SHOULD change the switch layer according the volume. So you'd have varying degrees of bone scale, number them 1 to 10, and then that should work.

I THINK it should. I'm kind of going on the talking head tutorial, I think...at least I think that's how it works. You can have mouth shapes in a switch layer from closed to open in varying degrees and let the audio level decide which switch layer to use. Perhaps you can use other stuff in that switch too?

Hello Mikdog,

For now the simple question I have is :

"Can we link a bone rotation from a first bone to the scale of a second bone" this may help a lot !! My evil plan to coquest the world is to use the bone audio wiggle in order to "pulse" some abstract particle, each particle linked to a bone that is linked to the master "wiggle" bone.

I've read your post twice, but it seems that I need a third time, because I do not understand the use of a switch layer in this case; perhaps you took a different direction from my idea (particle/voice sync).

I've seen your music video several time, I'm still very impressed by your extraordinarily great (and fun) work.

Perhaps this idea requires the creation or modification of the "bone wiggle Audio" script.

Hi Jean, I found your request most interesting and tried to modify the bone audio wiggle script, and I made it work with scaling bones insted of rotate them, however I'm no scripter guru and I've only tried it a couple of times. There is some values (that you're asked about the former "scale-value" that I don't know how I should handle, any way it works and you're free to try it but, as I said, I'm not a scripter so I don't know if it will work allright.

Here you can download it: http://www.musikboden.se/asfiles/UB_bonescalesound.lua

let me know how it works.

btw I dropped it in the same folder as lm_bonesound.lua file

In one word, ulrik : Perfect !

Thank you very much ! This can be usefull in many, many cases, this script should be sticky !
