Text disolve into smoke?

Post by Render »

hi, all

i was trying to discover a way to create the effect of text dissolving away into whisps of smoke.

itd be a cool effect if i can get it to work right. so far my feeble experiments have proved unsuccessful.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well, you might have to fake a little...
Use a text-layer and keyframe the visibility...
Use particles for the smoke....
(here one has to experiment with the intensity)

If you like, here is a very simple example:

Masking and particles would be my suggestion. Have a look at this.
Just replace the grumpy nurse with your text. Adjust background, particle size, transparency, etc. I originally had this as a pixelation dissolve and have here just set the particles with variable blur and transparency.
