how do i stop moving images from stuttering?

Post by WelshJester »

I'm having a problem with moving images, if i make one just go from one side of the screen to the other it stutters alot instead of being completely smooth as it should be.

i also have this problem in another program, anybody know how to fix it?

Maybe you're exporting at .AVI super high resolution without compression or something and your WIndows Media Player can't stream the video smoothly.

Does it play back normally in the work view in AS? Try rendering out a small video clip. Set the preferences in the project settings to WEB, make it 24 or 25 fps, then render out with a codec like PNG or AIMATION or SORENSON VIDEO 3 or MPEG or H.264 and see if it still stutters in playback.

Hi

it plays back stuttering in AS also, it plays quite smooth in windows media player, it has the same stutter in winamp though and also it stutters on youtube.

i have tried rendering to mpeg4 and it is the same.

you can do this easily to see what i mean, just make a circle or any shape in the program and make it go from left to right/right to left to about 150 frames and play it.

I cannot seem to find a solution.

Sometimes the image can go along fine and then just suddenly stutter for a short amount of time.

Playback inside AS is only useful to test your movements. It is by no means meant to represent the final output. A srtuttering playback of a simple fil elike this indicates that a) your computer hardware is not really sufficient or b) some other programs are open at the same time and use the same ressources.

My computer hardware is very up to date

but it's not just AS i get this problem, it is also winamp & youtube after the video has been rendered.
