I can import the video into AS6. BUUUUTTTTTTTT, all that gets imported is a small square icon looking thing. The icon looks like a piece of paper, torn on the lower right hand corner, with a green circle in the top left, a blue square in the middle right, and an orange triangle in the lower left.
I looked for an hour but couldnt find any other posts on this.
But what i wanna do is, import some video, make another layer and animate over the video layer, while the video plays in the background.
For example : import video of Man. Animate a beard and hat for 20sec on new layer.
How do I successfully import video?

Well, assuming that you're importing the movie correctly and in a compatible format, the icon that you are describing is AS's way of telling you that it can't link to your movie file any more. This usually happens if you've moved the file after importing it.
If that's the case you need to go to the image tab in your movie layer settings, click on Source Image, and navigate to your movie file. Click on Okay and you should now see your movie.
