I have been trying to use the gradient feature in tutorial 1-2 with no success. I follow the directions exactly but the hills are the same color. What am I doing wrong?
p.s. If your reply to this thread is just going to be 'You suck', 'You're an idiot' or anything like that, please don't bother responding at all.

Ok I just did a quick test.
If you are using version 6, make your shape, then before you choose GRADIENT in the effects options, press Q (select shape) and click on your shape to make sure you have your vector filled shape selected.
The click on EFFECT in the STYLE window and choose GRADIENT. Choose a gradient and it should show up.
Also in the bottom right of your screen click on DISPLAY QUALITY and make sure all the stuff's checked there to make sure the gradient's not displaying because you've unchecked something there.
