use pan and tilt to have a closeup effect

Post by super8mm »

I have the camera pan and tilted closer to the right hand -60deg and looking up from 30deg from the ground. So when the cat's hand would move closer to the camera it would appear bigger and further it was from the camera it scaled smaller.

I attempted it myself and matched everything to look right at the start pose but as soon as you move the bones the 3d effect doesn't match anymore. Has anyone attempted it successfully or have a suggestion on getting to work?

*About the thick lines, I don't know why it does that, all orange parts are all filled with the same style.

It's a 2D program.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

One thing to remember is it does have a 3d environment camera and if it hasn't been done then I shall pioneer once again.

If I have done what I think you're saying then I did it at 56s and 1:04s of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlJmW2WBqBg

Because the arm animation was only simple I animated it all out first with the arm lying across his own chest. Then I copied the arm and it's rig to a new bone layer so it was no longer a child of the chaacters main bone rig. Then I could just rotate the arm and charater layers seperately.

That's a rubbish explanation!

It took a bit of trial and error and I couldn't tell you exactly how I did it but you're welcome to the .anme if you think it'll help.

I see what you did there, yeah it's something like that. Where you cheat a little with the camera to have a 3d effect. Thanks for the file! :)

Great success! Frame zero looks weird with fat hips, a deformed head, and huge shoulders, etc. Also check both hands are exactly the same size, this is before it is affected by the pan and tilt.

This is frame 1 where the pan and tilt is used and the distorted figure looks proper. Please note that the hand closest to the camera is now twice the size of the other creating a 3D distance effect. The best part, I succeeded in making the part stay in scale even when moved. If the right hand was raised like the left one it would be aligned with the other hand and scaled accordingly. Same with the legs if her right legs kicks up it reduces in size.
