Layer Warping

Post by Lupas Deva »

I'm working on animating a cartoon skeleton. When I move the hands it warps other layers. I checked the A.S. library fileJace 45 and I THINK I'm using the same methods/layout they are but their's does not warp any other layers even if layers overlap each other.

I'm adding bones to my pics and each part of the body is on a different layer.
All bones = 1 bone layer
head = 1 vector layer
arms and hands = 1 vector layer
ribcage = 1 vector layer
hip bones = 1 vector layer
spine and legs = 1 vector layer

All the vector layers are inside the bone layer.

I set up the bones starting at the hips, I go up to the head. I highlight the bottom hip bone then I add 2 bones for the 1st leg. I highlight the hip bone, I add 2 bones to the other leg. I highlight the spine bone that is even with the arms. I add 3 bones for 1 arm. I highlight the spine bone and add 3 bones for the other arm. I adjust all the strengths for the bones.

How do I prevent all the warping? Is there a way to lock a bone with a specific layer?

I think you need to go into the bone properties (double click the bone layer) . Click the end tab and select the region binging.

(I think!)

I switched to "region binding."
That helps a little but the strength area still affect things it touches.

Also both mine and the Jace 45 file were originally on "flexable binding."

Is there another way?

Sorry, I don't have it on the computer to reference. And I'm still new to it myself.
