moving bones with layer

Post by p8guitar »

binding a layer to a bone makes the layer move with the bone. But how do I move bones along with a moving layer?

I have created a picture layer that I is being skaled, rotated and moved. I want the bones stick to that layer, so that I can use them at any frame of the animation. Is this possible?
Now the bones rest at the frame zero position of the layer, so they are useless at other frames where the layer has been moved to another position.

I think I don't understood well your question. However, no, you can't bind a bone to a layer. I think (and I'm trying to understand) you don't get how AS works. What you are asking seems useless to me, I mean, for what reason on an animation you would need a bone following a contained layer?

Think on this, when you bind a layer to a bone you have the possibility to move the bone, making the layer follow that bone AND the ability to move that layer by itself. So you get two movements: the bone movement PLUS the independent layer movement. And that's cool, believe me.

If you could bind a bone to a layer, you would lost that independent movement and you wouldn't get any gain.

I think you must re make your character rig to make it on the logical of AS, I mean, layers binded to bones, not inverted.

But probably I'm not getting the question.

I'm new and using anime studio 6 debut. I made a layer and drew part of my character. Made a new bone layer, created my bones, thenmerged my character layer with the bone layer. However when I move my character the bones that I created stay where they are and don't move to the new location with the character. Is that because I created my bones before merging the layers instead of merging then adding bones. Basically how do you move the bones with the character. You move the character but the bone layer that it was merged to doesn't move with it. Why?
