What are the HD dimensions in AS6?

Post by wolldo »

Hi there,
Its me again. Not that I'm around here often...

Anyway, I was just wondering if someone could tell me the dimensions for the HD in anime studio 6, for both 720p and 1080p. I am still in the age of AS5.6 :)

I know that the actual dimensions are 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720, but I read somewhere that the dimensions are raised when you export them from AS, and are converted from computer pixels into TV pixels or something, so that would mean a dimension heigher than 1920 x 1080, which would then be converted back down to that.

If you understand what I mean, can you please tell me these dimensions. And i don't plan to upgrade to the new version anytime soon. :)

Thanks ppls

Just use 1920 x 1080. Your video editing software will care for any conversion, if necessary, for broadcast formats, including those with non-square pixels.

HD resolved the annoying non-square pixel issues. They used square ones to conform to CCD and FLT screens which have 1:1 rations.

ASP outputs in progressing so you can have 1080p24, 1080p25 or 1080p30 variations. As ST says, your edit software will take care of conversions of 1080p25 to 1080i50 issues etc.

Its actually a very nice format to work in.
