Attention animators who use CorelDRAW

Post by theotherguy »

Hi all, as a long time CorelDRAW user now learning animation, I'm getting together with a CorelDRAW 'pro' to develop a series of lessons on using this program to create animation artwork.

I'll be concentrating on backdrops, i.e. forests, mountains, and skies, and also cityscapes and buildings. I want to learn to use the perspective tool to change the look of entire scenes and also drop shadows.

Learning to make vector artwork out of photos will be a priority along with adding textures.

If you have any suggestions regarding additional lessons please send them along and I'll try to make sure they're included.
thanks

Uhm, I use corel draw since version 4, and I think the best class would be how to create and control curves, combine shapes, paint effects (gradients, textures, mesh gradients, etc). For shadows, perspective and other effects there are specific intuitive tools which really doesn't require a whole class for each one.
I think a cool thing to learn is powerclip, which is something like AS masking.

If you don't work with photoshop, I recommend you to learn Corel Photopaint too (which is included on the pack and is as powerful as Photoshop). It's my main photo editing software and I'm very glad with it.

That's is what I think now, if I have any other idea I'll write it to you.
