How do I add a layer as a mask?

Post by Honacloi »

May be too elementary for its own topic but I am kind of desperate here.

Trying to follow Rhoel's instructions here: viewtopic.php?p=88255#88255 for eyeblinking but I get stuck trying to add the eyeball as a mask.

Is anybody available right now who can help?

double click on the layer and go to the "masking" tab. there you can edit the mask settings. such as adding something to the mask etc.

...my problem is that there is no option 'add as mask'. Done a bit of trial and error with each of the options in the masking tab but none are yielding the result Rhoel said.

Any idea what he meant? viewtopic.php?p=88255#88255

Thanks for the quick response anyways dude :D

here is a good video tutorial.

another tip is that you need a shape on the layer to mask a object on another layer

Ha ha! You're beautiful man! Got it.

Putting the mask layer into the group layer before drawing it works.

Cheers - couldn't have done it without you.
