there is a thread over at kelleytown about making hair with particles: http://www.kelleytown.com/forum/animato ... OPIC_ID=53

I'm still a newb but this is how i do it. I find a hair texture i like then crop it out using picasa then i import it as texture to a shape in AS.
This isn't a project i'm doing, just drew it to show what it can look like.
Omg this looks awful LOL!!!

Are you looking for something more simplified then? Just to have a couple of loose strands to blow in the wind like this video of the character Rose Agent?swrecordings wrote:thats basically it, but i also going to use this figure for head turns.
thats a really cool effect

If you want something like that, I think the way the hair moves is the tricky part. You've probably already seen this, but Selgin has a tutorial on how to animate hair: viewtopic.php?p=86526

what i am going for is kinda like the lion's hair effect.
i created a vector figure of this drawing that my friend did for me

and i am trying to get the hair right.
i am just having trouble with the stand look of the hair
this is my latest attempt

as you can see the hair needs work

All I can think of is to bind some hair points to a bone and use bone dynamics but imo thats going to drive you nuts trying to draw each hair and 3 bones for each hair strand.
I drew this a few min. ago. I could of make the hair in 3-4 dif layers and give it more woosh but I think it shows what you can do with dynamics.

Prolly but i'm still using debut. I have to do things the hard waylwaxana wrote:If you use particle effects, you won't need to create each hair individually. But to turn the head, you might want a couple of layers of particles of hair so there can be some in front of the head and some behind the head.
It's only been since end of Dec. since I ever tired to animate any thing. If I still find animating still being fun in the next few weeks i'll go ahead and upgrade.
