Anime Studio Debut 6 - Layer - Opacity
Does layer opacity (a percentage) work in Debut or just Pro? I have spent some time experimenting -- and thought I would confirm it can work, before investing more. (MAC 10.6.2)

Thanks for confirming it will work.
I have clicked the vector layer, then layer settings, then on the general tab changed the opacity settings (percentage) many times. The visible checkbox is "checked" and the opacity is set to 48%. I am making some mistake - as it has no effect.
Are you aware of any other layer settings that must, or cannot, be enabled for this to work? For example , Masking is set to "Mask this layer". Is that correct?
Regarding the "enable visibility" setting on the animation screen, -- On the layers list, visibility is enabled -that is - the eyeballs are in the checkbox. The layer is "visible", but I cannot change the opacity.
Thanks for responding - and any other ideas you may have. I will keep after the experimentation.

It is only seen when rendered. Set the opacity to some percentage then preview it to see if its what you desire.jeff740x wrote:Thanks for confirming it will work.

And yes, leave the mask this layer checked. It's checked by default anyways and has nothing to do with what you are trying to do.
Good Grief.
I assumed when I clicked "Play" that all effects would be displayed.
I just exported the project - and there was the opacity! Not exactly what I was shooting for - but the effect works. Now that I can "see" it, I can probably get it to work in the way I intended.
I will need to learn more about "play" versus "export", but you pointed me in the right direction.
Thanks very much for the great advice.
