How do you get a realistic water effect like the salt marsh?
I am a beginner to animation but recently saw a clip called the salt marsh and fell in love with the animation. In particular, the water. Does anyone know how the artist made the water look so real? What did he use to make the water move like that?

I have not seen this film, so a link would be helpful.jxa0778 wrote:I am a beginner to animation but recently saw a clip called the salt marsh and fell in love with the animation. But one approach for lakes and other large bodies of water is to use a base rendered layer for the water, then mix reflections and sparkles over the top. For flowing water, you have to animate in the direction of the flow, again using varying degrees of transparency.
Water is not easy!

The character animation was done by anime studio. But all the effects was done in aftereffects.
