ghost lines

Post by vonkoba »

Hi guys, I have been having some problems when exporting: Every time I export to swf some ghost lines appear on the swf file; these were never visible when I did the animation. The swf lines are the most notorious, though exporting to avi or quicktime also has its problems (blurred colors, lines that end up being thicker than they show when doing the animation, speed plays REALLY SLOW).
Here is a brief example of these ghost lines, though it can be a lot worse!

This is what I see in the Anime screen (it plays well, no problems)

This is the rendered, sfw animation, were the lines show up:

Thanks for the help ppl!

I think I may have double posted, as there is a similar topic that I missed, though I don't see a solution to the problem there:

viewtopic.php?t=16026

I will try to check this other post later, as I have a cold that is killing me!
Sorry if I double posted!

Hi Vonkoba--That thread you linked to sounds like a different problem than you're having. I don't think debo was exporting to swf. I've never used swf, so I can't be much help on this one. But this thread might be the same problem you've encountered: viewtopic.php?t=15563&highlight=swf+export

Typically, what is happening is this: you imported a vector drawing from another program. This drawing has superimposed vector points. When you export to swf format, these lines appear. It's happened to me.

Solution: you need to tweak each and every node to see where these duplications occur and delete them. I know -- bummer... This is why people advise you to import bitmap images and trace over them in AS.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

lwaxana: Thanks a lot, you were right :D . Actually that post you mentioned applies to my problem. Basically going through every vector point and finding the duplicate or "orphan" ones solved it. It is a PAIN (especially when you have a cold!) but it is good to see everything working!

jahnocli: Actually I didn't import anything from a vector drawing software. I once tried this, but after ending up with a gazillion vector points I decided it was not worth the hassle. In my case I had this problem after doing everything from zero on Anime Studio (I didn't even import a bitmap, did it all right there, but hey, you did give me a good idea with this!). But still you are right, it involves going through each and every node...
Thanks for the help guys!! :D
