importing from photoshop elements 7 to anime studio 6 HELP!
Here's what I'd like to do... I've designed some characters and I'd like to import them to Anime Studio 6 as levels so I can animate them. I tried using the script in the Extras from the AS6 in Elements but I can't get it to work. I can import images, add bones, but, because the character is part of the background, the whole image is animated. Not pretty. I've got the officlal manual and have serached the turtoilas but can't see to find the answer. Admitedly, with this particular area, I'm a little dim. So, if its an obvious solution, forgive me. But any help anyone can offer would be GREATLY apprecviated. Thanks.
Until later, T.
If the AS script for Photoshop Elements doesn't work (probably won't since Elements is not the full Photoshop) then your best bet is the following:
Export each layer of your character as a separate PNG file. Your character needs to be created in parts on each layer in Photoshop, for example, hand, forearm, bicep etc. Each of those elements on one layer in photoshop.
When you export those layers you can crop to the image bounds or just export the whole image for each part so they line up when imported into AS. If you want to save on size of the images and want to crop tightly around each body part layer, you can put in registration marks in the Photoshop file so they can be aligned in AS. Then reexport the images without the register marks replacing the originals.
When exporting the pngs from Photoshop make sure you use "transparency" and that each layer is transparent. This means that say a forearm "floats" over the background of the photoshop document. There should only be pixels in the arm area itself. It can't have a white or color background. I don't know if Photoshop Elements has the features to do this.
