Just curious, I started with ASP6 and had issues with the Opacity and Blur in the Compositing Effects. It would only ever show the Blur and Opacity when I rendered a Preview. At first I thought it was my display settings, but I have all of them checked. Then I thought it might be a bug and reported it in the version 6 issues thread ages ago.
But now I've tried ASP7 as well - and the problem is still there.
Can someone please tell me if it should be possible to see the effects of Layer Opacity and Blur 'live' without having to do a Preview? It's annoying the hell out of me, so much so that I left ASP6 alone because of it! Surely in this day and age with the power of even the most basic computer, such things should be live on the screen?
It kinda feels like you have to use guess work all the time otherwise.
Is this a bug?

It's not a bug, is the way AS works. Yes, you have to render you animation to see what is happening with some effects
