In 5.6 you get a red representation of line thickness as you draw, and on release you get the line with outline, fills if you've set it for them, line thickness is all there and so on.
In AS7 freehand tool, you get a thin wire line plotting position only as you draw, no thickness, and on release you get everything as normal. It's disconcerting and frankly not ideal. Maybe people get used to it, and so could I no doubt, but why should I have to? What the HELL?
Apparently this issue was first introduced in AS6?
Please tell me I've just overlooked a setting or something.
Tell me if I sound hysterical, but it seems pretty bizarre to me to have to go back 2 full upgrades to get a decent working freehand tool which shows you what you're drawing WHILE YOU'RE DRAWING IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
What a kick in the nuts.
AS7 freehand tool - preview now gone?

I only unchecked the auto-weld option. Pressing alt is a nice tip, thanks.Ronbo wrote:Either press the alt/option key when you draw or disable auto-weld up in the menu bar. This will allow you to see the red line thickness preview.
