sbtamu, Danimal, thanks for the links!
Great to hear that SmithMicro is honoring the discount, but a 50% sale so soon after AS 7's release alienates customers who bought the software around launch, and a lot of them are probably Anime Studio's most loyal supporters. I'm jumping in on this sale, it's too good to resist, but I cringe to think if I had bought this launch day, which I seriously considered doing. I do not understand this strategy at all.

A lot of companies run sales around the major holidays, which would include Christmas (there was a 50% off sale then as well), 4th of July (in the U.S.) and Labor Day. I came here to see if anyone else had used the coupon for their upgrade and am glad to see it applies! Yay!
So that's in part why I waited for Labor Day before deciding to upgrade. At $129 it was enough to make me wait because I don't use AS all that often, but at half that it's a no brainer.
Definitely sign up for the newsletter. It just takes a second to delete the messages if you're not interested in anything, but it can certainly pay off when you are!
I hope the person who just bought it prior to the sale can get a refund!
If it's any sort of consolation... ToonBoom would cost you a lot more, especially if you wanted Animate. I mean... for what it normally costs to get Animate you could just about buy Anime Studio Pro AND a low end computer to run it on! Anime Studio has come a long way since the days of Moho. The new physics engine looks pretty cool!

I was about to pay for this but Zone alarm told me it might be suspect,
can anyone confirm that the link has https in it rather that http like this...
https://store.smithmicro.com:leftblank/checkout.aspx
(ignore the left blank bit I did that)
Does this look legit?
BTW love the new icon funk
P.S. Speaking of toon boom specials, they had a one day sale yesterday and I got a new copy of storyboard pro2 down from $899.00 down to $299.00 bux.
You could have knocked me over with a feather and the timing was PERFECT, just when I was in real strife and needing to upgrade just to open files. PHEW!

funksmaname, it's obvious you love the program, I just don't like it when people complain about things that can easily be resolved - it makes it more difficult to complain about legitimate issues, because you are just grouped into the 'moaners' category. It could have been worse - imagine you had bought it 31 days before the promo started. Now that would be a kick in the nuts.
I just want to say to all those with a previous version to 7; I am better than you in every way, because I now have ASP7. It hurts, doesn't it?

Hurts? I believe Freakish Kid (Grey Kid as was) still use 5.6 -- are you better than them? Show us what you can do -- otherwise, all you are talking about is a software version of one-upmanship...crsP wrote:I just want to say to all those with a previous version to 7; I am better than you in every way, because I now have ASP7. You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
