New Series I'm Working on.

I appreciate that! Yeah, I plan on tweaking the scene a bit. Just a couple things that Im not completely happy with, but I've been applying methods suggested through this forum, and I must say... My animation is coming out better. I learned alot on this last scene, it makes you want to go back and fix other stuff, but I need to keep moving forward. I estimate another 2-3 scene before the project is at a close. Still need to get the whole thing scored with BGM. Thanks for the suggestions from folks at this forum... Yes I do listen, but as always I am trying to keep things moving along, and doing damage control along the way. Sounds brutal, but true. MarsoutDanimal wrote:Very cool! The animation just keeps getting better. The leaves and the clouds in particular were excellent.
The priest's voice reminded me a lot of Paul Frees. Really great production all around.

Well, Neeters... I am totally appreciative of that. Funny when you work on these projects your eyes get old, and you lose the magic of what your looking at. I managed to stop watching the other clips for about 3 weeks. I have to say that I am pretty proud of what I see now. Mind you, there are things I would like to see improved, but overall I like what I see. The story to me is important to me, only because its the one thing that I have divoted most my energy to. I wish I could show so much more than the Pilot episode, because I have a lot of huge ideas for the future of the project. Thanks for the support Neeters.neeters_guy wrote:Man, that's brutal.![]()
Anyway, I'm glad you're nearing the completion of the project. Serious stories are a rarity here, but one of this quality even moreso. I can't wait to see this all put together.

O.k. Sorry about the change... Basically I had tweaked a few things. Not really any huge changes, but I still wasnt completely happy with a few things. One of Goya's lines was drowned out by the crowd, so I changed the volume in the scene. Made a better transitional at the beginning and end of the "Eve Drag" sequence. Oh.... and I made this clip in HD.

Pretty much, The last scene I did "The meeting of two" (Scene 3) still needs a transition at the end. I have all the recorded dialogue for scene 4 (The Gate), then I need to write Scene 5, or Possibly a 6th scene. These scenes are going to have to be amped up with action. Its crazy, because I wanted to line out the background as much as possible for the pilot, unfortunately that leaves very little for a big action sequence. I am at 15 minutes of animation right now, so I sort of blew it at keeping this in the 20 minute time frame. All said and done, I will more likely be in a 40 minute time frame. This will be enough to show what the series is about. Im a bit nervous about how the last scenes are going to turn out. I will have to learn to be a more efficient story teller, but at least I am getting an idea of just how tricky it can be to move a story along. Plus I need to learn to get people engaged to the story, so that maybe they will watch the episodes from begining to end. Ive done a few test viewings with friends, just to see where there attention span falls. With the way movies are today, dialogue seems to be a loser to action. Recently I watched a few older movies, and its amazing how there is tons of dialogue, with moments of action. These days movies serve to fullfill quick gratification, or the audiance will leave. I hate to say that because I love action myself. Well I need to quit rambling, but I just wanted to show people where my head was at on this project. Mars out!lwaxana wrote:Wow, these look great! I can't believe how many complex scenes you have done. It's really inspiring. Other than this one, are you making each scene in order?

Its been awhile, Ive been setting up things for the final scenes. Yes, the writing for the pilot episode is complete. Now all I need to do is animate it. For now you can check out this scene. You may have already seen it, but this is a bit different... Basically I went back and fixed a few little things, plus I added the trasitional that was missing in the first version. I'm pretty sure everyone will like the very end of this scene. Just check out the last quater of the film. Marsout!

I haven't posted anything for awhile. I have been going through a lot of big things for this project recently. I had to do another audition for about 6 Characters. I had about 63 Character voice auditions for those 6... Yes I have been very busy. Unfortunately it's hard to get people to send in dialogue (It's the Holidays). I have about about 50% of the dialogue for the last 4 scenes. I had set a deadline for Christmas, but I'm sure I wont make that one. Recently I had finished rigging almost all my Characters. I think I had about 8 character models rigged in the last week. Some of you may have visited my youtube channel and followed the progress... If not, you should swing over and see what's been going on. Here is the latest screen test for my Diplomat Rigg. Marzout.

Yeah I guess I could see how the spinning would look more ominous if I slowed it down. I had considered pitching the voice initially... I don't know, I wanted the character to be sounding kind of charismatic. In the episode he tries to get the humans to make an alliance with his people, so I dont want to make him sound demonic or sinister. I may pitch a bit and see how it sounds. Both are great suggestions. Marzout!jahnocli wrote:In the first clip, th smoke and the sky twirl thing are a bit too fast for my tastes. For the second clip, I think the voice should be deeper. But I think the work you're doing is fantastic -- I'd love to see the finished article!

I was telling Scott (The voice talent for the Diplomat) that I had actually composed a piece of BGM for the Diplomat. I am always a little shy when it comes to putting my music pieces out, but I think this actually sounds pretty good. The fact is, I have a very limited ability to produce music... This BGM was done with my vocals... The percussion is me as well. I added a Bass chorus in there, and through in a hint of Wind Chimes. I also Slowed down the Smoke effects. The dialogue does not match the scene... It's basically there to illustrate. I Changed Scott's voice with Flange, and AM band, and EQ. Marzout!
Hope this looks better... See I listen...

Well, this is what I have been building up to the last month or so. Still more to come on this scene. More sound effects as well. some minor tweaks. Hope everyone likes. Marzout

I think this opening sequence is fantastic. Really nice pacing and excellent action direction which is not visually confusing. You get introduced to some of the characters skills and abilities which, as a first intro, is a good thing. I expect over the course of a number of episodes (if you do that) your opening sequence would evolve through splicing in other moments from the series which will serve to deepen the characterisations.
