This guys have made a wonderful job. Check the beauty combination of 2d, 3d and puppets. The style remember me Neo Mickey a little, and looks it perfectly could be made using AS for 2d. Anyway, the creators said they used Flash on this.
Check it, even the animatic is great to watch.

love the graphic and animation style. The main characters remind me of rocky and bullwinkle a bit.
