Is it wise for me to buy now?

Post by mykylr »

Is it wise for me to buy Anime Studio Pro now? I don't want to purchase then find I have to pay for an upgrade in the next couple of months.

Cheers

Maybe I should rephrase. Is there a new version expected in the next couple of months?

Thanks

There was suppose to be an update a few months ago but Animestudio has yet again switched hands with another company. The good thing is that it's only $150 instead of $200 on e-frontier's site right now. So it might be a good time to buy. Even without knowing when there's going to be an update, it's still the best 2D animation software to use.

I'd bet a dollar (actually, I'd bet $100) there will be no new version in the next six months, and perhaps not even after that.

Just a guess, but things have slowed down development wise around here. In any case, I think you're on very safe ground to buy now.

Ha ha! Just as well -- I was all set to joust with him as the forum's incoherent and illiterate shock-jock! You can never win those contests though; someone once told me "anyone who argues with an idiot is doing the same"...

To the original poster: Buy it now! I can't imagine they would make you pay for an update if it came out any time soon. This is a critical point for the future of the program. They really need to keep the LONG TIME USERS happy as well as new users.

If there is an upgrade soon or not... oh well. AS still works great right now. I use it every day and love it to death!

About the forum member 1999...

I've been giving him some leeway.

It's a razor's edge because... although he is not contributing in a... uh... positive way and is WRONG about intentional subterfuge by efrontier or smith micro trying to rip us off somehow, his complaints about delays with the book and lack of tutorials have some merit. I only delete his posts that make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER or are completely off the track. (He reminds me of another person who posted here a while back. ;) )

Unfortunately annoying us isn't going to do any good. ;)

1999,

What exactly does that mean? This is where... it gets hard to understand you sometimes. You make references to things that are either out of context or we know nothing about. What is "Dragnet" referring to?

"(dam that must hurted)" what hurt? Learning? Dragnet? When Smith Micro bought out efrontier?

Is English not your first language? According to your profile you live in the states but that doesn't mean English is your best language. We have many people here who speak, Spanish, French, there might even be others.
