Post by Rasheed »

If you subscribe to the Animation Mentor newsletter this month (March 2008), you will be able to download a free eBook with tips and trick for animators.

Sign up now to get your free eBook, "Animation Tips & Tricks" by Shawn Kelly, full of information on how to improve your animation skills! Shawn, co-founder of Animation Mentor, recently won the 2008 VES Award for the Best Single Visual Effects for his work on Transformers.
The eBook is 90 pages, filled with the following subjects:
planning; observation; reference material; thumbnails; blinks have meaning; the face; operative words; spotlight your expressions; keep secondary characters secondary; exaggeration; forget about the legs; track your arcs, part 1 and 2; contrast in posing; contrast in timing; you are the tool; constrain to props no to the character; twinning; rise above the snobbery; moving from Transformers to cartoons; reversals; recharge your animation batteries; ask Shawn your questions; key poses, breakdowns and inbetweens; animation advice.

Highly recommended. And did I already wrote that it's free?

How does this work? I've just been to Animation Mentor, signed up for the newsletter, and didn't see anything about a free eBook. I checked back at my email address to see if there was a download link in the "welcome" email -- nothing. Am I missing something obvious? (wouldn't be the first time...)
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I assumed, if you sign up right now, you would get the March newsletter ASAP, but I'm not sure about that. In the March newsletter, you can click a link, which brings you to a personalized webpage where you can download the PDF.

Here is the link to the newsletter on their website:
http://www.animationmentor.com/newsletter/0308/

From there, you can do the sign up procedure.
