music videos

hi everyone,
i've been a long time reader here, and thought now it's time to show some of my stuff. i made both videos entirely alone, during my communications design education.
the school is now over, so if anyone wants to hire me or so, go on

this one is for the hamburg-based industrial metal band Parity Boot. besides anime studio, i used cinema 4D, adobe premiere and photoshop in the process:

and this one is a bit older. it's for another german metal band, Knorke Südfrucht, who celebrate a weird image of happiness and energy, combining all kinds of musical styles for no reason. they're fun.
this was almost completely done in anime studio, although there's almost no vector graphics involved:

Impressive. I'm not a big fan of the music, so both videos went on about five times too long(!), but great high-energy stuff.

Wow.

Das ist verdammt gut. Nicht meine Musik, aber man merkt, daß du selber spielst: deine Figuren haben was zu tun und bewegen sich überzeugend. Das Video ist clever geschnitten, schöne Hintergründe, das Figurendesign ist sehr gut: erinnert ein wenig an Daniel Torres oder Max, eckig, aber lebendig.

"into nothing" was breathtaking!!! Great combo of all different styles of animation together! Way to go. Especially for a one man show!

I hope your fellow bandmates appreciate the work you put in to do such top notch work for those videos.

I especially liked the visuals and animation used for the Into Nothing Video, but I think I liked the song Mindbomb better.

thanks everyone for the positive feedback. yes, i think the others do appreciate the work. they saw me become paler and paler over the course of months (i worked exclusively at night) and certainly understood how much work it was. they also seem to like the finished thing.
knorke südfrucht had no problem at all with the video, as they're a band who generally allow everything, the weirder the better

@ slowtiger: da du hier den eindruck eines "alten hasen" machst mal eine naive frage an dich: was mach ich jetzt damit? ich bin mit studieren fertig (into nothing war die abschlussarbeit) und hab lust zu arbeiten, allerdings schreckt mich der werbebtrieb sehr ab. wo treibt sich der etwas künstlerischere teil der gestaltungs- und designszene rum und wie krieg ich da nen fuß in die tür? wäre schön wenn du die eine oder andere idee hättest!

I agree with Slowtiger, this is professional stuff, ripe for the international market. I guess you would do good in those animation festivals. If you can enroll in the animation industry, that would be great. And it beats going to the corporate side of communication business.

I would certainly read the sticky threads in the AWN forum about enrolling in the animation industry. That's good stuff. It seems that some fresh animators don't get hired, because they think they are so good, that they only do "real animation".

Just getting your foot into the door seems to be the hardest part. I don't know about Germany, but here in the Netherlands you have to know people to get a job in the close-knit Dutch animation industry, I'm told. Once you're in --in whatever position-- you're half way there.

and to what you said rasheed: i think the corporate side of anything freaks me out. i guess by "real animation" you mean the traditional way, drawing single frames and so on?
