It is called the World Wide Web. Obviously, some companies don't seem to understand that. Comedy Central is one of them, apparently.

It's all about licensing. It's the reason DVD's have these region codes on them (...and I ended up buying a chipped, region-free DVD player). Same reason I'm not too keen getting a Blu-ray player until I know what the region-coding on that platform will be like.
It's funny. In my line work, the money I make ultimately comes from licensing. But I still don't like.
