just bought anime studio- have a lot of 0's in serial number- how can I tell if they're letter O's or number 0's to enter?

I've had the same problem before. What I do is paste the number into a text editor and compare the 0 and O.
Generally, using a system font (not fancy typography) "zeros" are "thinner" than a capital "O":
0
O
If it is more "round" than oval it is most likely the letter O.

Or, just copy and paste into the Anime Studio activation dialog. Don't type it all in letter-by-letter.

It's on a box so I can't copy and paste it. After reading these posts for hours- LOL- I found one that said they only use number 0's. It's activated now- thank you all.

I had to load on another computer that doesn't go to the internet. This one, has some issues. It installed fine. Once working on the other computer I placed the registered AS on a flash drive. Now it works on any of my computers.
