new head turn + acting

Post by human »

This is the same kind of thing you've seen from me over the past two years.

However, the drawing is improved, the acting is improved, and it was done without 3d modeling.

I'm not happy with the timing yet, though.

Notes about the process...

I drew 4 poses using expressions found in Facial Expressions by Mark Simon (Watson-Guptill, 2005).

Once I completed these toons, I generated the halfway tweens using MorphMan.

I re-morphed using these breakdowns and combined the videos.

(You can obviously see the morphy-ness.)

I tweaked the duration between frames manually by trial and error. (I suppose it would be better to convert the GIF to AVi again so I could use velocity cuves in Vegas Video.)

As a last step, I added two blinks. This image has been reduced to 50% size.

I eventually intend to hand this rough over to a master of Anime Studio.

Sounds like a lot of work, but very nice results. I like what I've seen of your style. It seems to me that ,if you have already done 4 poses, it would be fairly easy to go ahead and do switch or action interpolation.

Keep up the good work.
