Okay. I've just got Anime studio 5 and I've figured out how to move, bone, layered stuff but I want to know how do you get your own images in it and having the parts you want transparent.
Because I don't have a thous pencil input devices. All I have is a scanner and some pics made for frame by frame animation. that or I want it to do bone movement but ...i don't know... could anyone help me here?

You need some software to chop out background colour and make it transparent. If you have access to Photoshop (CS2 or above), there is a script available which will export each layer as a separate layer to Anime Studio. This is a BIG time saver. On the other hand, if you are on a tight budget, get hold of The Gimp, a freeware alternative to Photoshop. Export your images as 32 bit PNG (or 24 bit with transparency).
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
sO?
Well will that let me add other images to make a frame by frame effect? and also there isn't a way that I can just scan the images onto the program?

Assuming that you want to import a character into anime studio. Take a look at the sample character that comes with it (Winsor) that opens up in the default startup file.
Basically you need to
1) Scan your image into your COMPUTER using some scanner and a scanning program. (not anime studio)
2) Cut the image into various parts using an image editing program (e.g. GIMP). Save separate files for Arm,Torso,Head,Legs etc (use your imagination.... perceive how you would want it animated). Use the format as suggested by jahnocli. (not anime studio)
3.) Import the different images as "Image layers" on anime studio. (in anime studio)
4.) Have fun animating! (in anime studio)

Anime Studio is not designed for scanning and "frame by frame" animation. You could force it into that framework but it's not suited for it.
Anime Studio is geared towards animation along a time line using key frames. It is also well suited for "cut out" style animation similar to "South Park". Add image "parts" and animate them with bones.
It doesn't have any way to scan into the application. You must prepare images in another program that supports an alpha channel to get transparency in the images. Anything that exports 24 bit PNG format with transparency (8 bit PNG is icky, like a GIF, no antialiasing of edges.)

I see what you mean AND thanks I got it working now. I made it where the bones and the frame change thing ( in the same matter on how they make the mouth and eyes move) with the body parts... now it's smooth and doesn't look like flash animation... it sorta looks traditinal enough... and thanks you guys for helping me out lol. you all are a big help... I've made my first anime studio video lol only 72 frames long lol I'll post it in the show your work board thingy.heyvern wrote:Anime Studio is not designed for scanning and "frame by frame" animation.
