EPIC PHAIL! Can not splell my own nickname... Expert NOOB me

Post by SoinergyDude »

Hi,

I just bought Anime Studio 5 did the little upgrade to it and am very impressed with it. It is fun to mess with, and a mess is what I made with it... O,o LOL

I am brand spanking new to AS, but not animation as I can make some mean animated GIFs.

This does not work the same way as the simple gifs I am used to playing with. I wanted to know for giving my photos life and animation and cutting out the desired parts and all... How and where are these tutes on the disc? Or online?

Also are PNG images the only type that will actually work say for rigging bones?

Once I select say the included guy charactor and want him over to the left more, how do I just grab and move him around? Or do I always need to pan the camera?

Can I save my star in any position?

Is it possible to say make it appear to leave one scene and enter or cut to another scene? Much like say a movie, or video can do. Is this just a matter of a rolling background that changes, and same with the actors and props... Do they take turns in and out of the camera's main view field so they make it appear that things are just moving along?

O,o I know I am a pain in the tail end... LOL

I will keep looking for more great tutes, tips and the like. :)

I did make a 2D version of my wheelchair which wasa breeze in this program. It should not be very hard once I learn the ways the camera works to also draw the other parts to to make a 360 look at the wheelchair and have it be 2D styled like 3D, just rotate the camera around the four flat sides of the wheelchair... LOL

What a cool program for a noob like me who loves animation yet only wants to play with it... :)
DANG! I forked up my nickname... It is not SoinergyDude... O,o

It is SpinergyDude - Spinergy is the brand of rear wheels on my wheelchair.

First thing you'll want to do is go through all of the tutorials available in the help. That should narrow your laundry list of questions a bit.

A lot of stuff not covered by these can be answered by searching this forum. There is a ton of expert knowledge stored here. I periodically just look through sections starting with the earliest post.

If you're interested in using images, PNG is the way to go, as it includes transparent background. For this you'll need a separate image editor like Photoshop. I haven't used it, but many here also swear by the Gimp for image editing.

That said, like many here will tell you, you're best bet is to master the AS drawing tools. Vector art is much more flexible to animate.

Keep at it.

Whoa! Thanks. :)

I use GIMP and am purdy good with it. :p

But, I am messing with these Vector things takes me back to the old day of being on my Power Mac PC O,o using illustrator... LOL Except AS has different feel to these vector tools that PI had... At least what I recall from O,o 10 or more years ago... :p

But, I rather learn the AS tools insyead of import stuff I would rather not...

I must say this program is very addictive... O,o MUST ANIMATE A STICK FIGURE... O,o ;p

The hot play and forget it is on play and move something is really funky... O,o Although for some things I can see that as a powerful tool. :) I am all spazzy now with it... LOL

The earlier version Moho I think will those tips still work for me?

And, how mean of them to have a pro-version O,o :p

I think nearly all of the old Moho tips are still valid.

It's always best practice to only create on frame zero. In the edit>preference you can set it to highlight frame zero to help you remember this.

I think most people here would agree that AS is addictive.

As far as Pro version goes, I would definitely recommend it. But read up on the extra features and decide if you need them. The help has a product comparision of features, so keep that handy. Even the included tutorials don't usually tell you when it refers to Pro features.
