Day to night time lapse

Hi guys, glad i found this forum! Just got started with this program, and i wonder if it's possible to create a day-to-night time lapse within the program. For instance, i have a background showing Dawn, can i somehow animate this background into Dusk, and then loop the animation?

I hope i explained understandably

The simplest way is to do two backgrounds, with identical shapes, but one in daytime colours, one in nighttime colours, and dissolve from one to the other. Sometimes it is enough to do the daytime version and put just a completely dark blue layer on top of it, layer mode "multiply".

You need to make the timeline for opacity visible via the "options" in the timeline palette.
