Disney Rapunzel

Post by jhbmw007 »

This looks like it will be pretty interesting- they are using a new animation technique to make the movie look like an animated painting. Still CGI, but they are using traditional 2-d animators in the process as well (drawing sketches/silouettes and filling them in with the 3d models):

Here's a test animation of the film i found:

Hmmm, I Don't normally like Disney stuff for its saccharin factor (even when I was young) but that render looked very nice, a sugary delight even, the animation was a little more subtle too, thank the stars above, sitting through the whole thing would be tough though. I think I'll leave that task to all those pre teen princesses and their mum's.

Good call, chucky

re: "saccharin" and "pre teen princesses"

Just like saccharin, a few seconds of footage and already it reeks of "princess."

It's cloying and fakey, in style and content.

Other than that, it's great, tho. 8)

huh?

"fakey" as in "fake" or an "imitation"? If so, an imitation of what...themselves? Scoundrels! How dare they.
