I currently have quite an old version op QT installed (7.1.3). For me my installation is quite stable and I would like to prevent issues when upgrading to newer versions.
I purchased a new IPod and it requires a new version of iTunes which in its turn requires a newer version of QT.
Which version of QT do you use on Windows and does it work properly with AS?
Which Quicktime version on Windows are you using?

I too was avoiding updating QT. I currently have the latest version on both my PC and my Mac and have had no problems.
The only issue I currently have regards QT Pro. I have QT Pro only on the Mac. This means that on the PC I don't have all the options for codecs I do on the Mac.
To get around this I export animations from AS on my PC without compression (faster than AS on my old and slow mac) and use QT Pro on the mac to do "final" exporting of animations using the larger selection of codecs.
I would like to get QT Pro for the PC to eliminate this step. Depends though on how fast the "new" mac I'm getting will be. (I'm getting a used emac for $25 that is still twice as fast as my current ancient mac.)
-------------
p.s. I am always several years behind the latest greatest systems. This is great because I can get stuff really cheap and it still feels speedy fast to me by comparison. If it was good enough when it was new, it should be good enough now... as long as I don't know what I'm missing.
